A midwife who was kicked in the head during childbirth in a hospital in Ózd by a mother in labor will receive a 4 million HUF grievance fee, as she eventually went blind, the Tények reported.
Mrs. Mariann Dódujné Szőllősi’s retina became detached and she lost her sight.
She has been suing for many years with her workplace, which did not want to admit that there had been an accident at work, seeking compensation of HUF 8 million, and finally receiving half of it.
The midwife says she is relieved after the verdict is given, but feels her life and her husband’s life are ruined. She has not been able to work since the accident, she was struggling financially, so they needed the compensation. The other eye also deteriorated due to the kick, suffering from a 20-degree loss of field of vision; she dreads being completely blind.
