Police officers, soldiers, firefighters, civilian guards and members of several civilian research groups took part in the search on the outskirts of Zánka.
A man notified the police on March 8th, 2021, around 6 p.m., that one of his employees in the Zánka area had not returned from grazing his animals. The staff of the Balatonfüred Police Headquarters, together with their counterparts and members of several civilian research groups, set out to search for the missing person immediately. The 68-year-old man was found the next day, March 9th, 2021, on the outskirts of Zánka, in a ruined wooden building by members of one of the research organizations in a state of near-cooling, lying on the ground. The man said he had fallen the night before, hit his waist and then pulled himself into a nearby building, but he could not ask for help. The elderly man was then taken out of the building and handed over to the ambulance staff for further care.
